Fans of the Adult Swim grandfather-grandson tandem who have been waiting for so long for “Rick and Morty” season 4 news will just have to wait it out a little longer. While the past year has given hopeful news about the show's future, solid information about when the next season will air its premiere episode has yet to be announed or leaked.
Last May 10, news about "Rick and Morty" getting renewed with Adult Swim for 70 more episodes was confirmed. Series co-creator Justin Roiland tweeted about the renewal with a drawing of the titular characters.
More Rick and Morty coming. Looking forward to all the tweets asking where it is! #theydrawingit pic.twitter.com/KZild3B9rP

Series co-creator Dan Harmon posted a video on his Instagram feed featuring him and Roiland taking a bath and joking about getting back to work because of the good news.
The additional episode order confirms that “Rick and Morty” season 4 will definitely happen, which is great news for a series that usually kept its fans on the edge of their seats about the show's future.
In an interview with Polygon, Justin Roiland mentioned that the bulk renewal of episodes for the show will ensure a shorter transition period between seasons, and job security for its writers and staff. Roiland's statements did not include a promise on how the batch order of 70 more episodes has affected production of “Rick and Morty” season 4.
While Roiland shared his optimism about "Rick and Morty" season 4, the upcoming installment has no official air date yet and there has been no confirmation that the series' fourth season is currently in full production.
Ryan Ridley, one of the show's writers and producers, mentioned in an interview with “The Detroit Cast” podcast that “Rick and Morty” season 4 may be looking at a 2019 air date. While the interview dates prior to the batch order of 70 episodes, if “Rick and Morty” season 4 still gets its usually tumultuous season preparations, fans can probably take Ridley at his word for a late 2019 air date.
