The Season 1 finale of The CW’s Riverdale had everyone reeling, and wanting more of the teen mystery drama. From the revelation about Jason Blossom’s killer, the Blossom family’s real business, and right until that armed robbery at Pop’s Diner where Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) was shot.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has just revealed the show’s upcoming Season 2 title, and more about what’s in store for Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), and the rest of the characters. A May 23rd tweet confirmed that Season 2 is officially titled “Chapter 14: A Kiss Before Dying). Screenrant is suggesting that based from the spilt milkshake image in the tweet, Season 2 will probably pick up from the armed robbery at Pop’s. If the image, Fred’s injuries, and Mendes’ comments about a “darker” Archie in Season 2 could mean anything, it is possible that our ginger-haired hero might be losing a parent early in the season.
Meanwhile, rumors are also suggesting that we might be seeing not just one, but two Sprouses in the series, Metro said. Several plans are pointing to a revelation about Betty’s mother, Alice, having a child in high school, of which the latter has put up for adoption. A conversation between Betty, Archie, and Veronica had put the rumor into overdrive, as Veronica has speculated that Betty’s brother will probably be “another blonde Adonis.”
A Reddit thread said that Betty’s brother could be played by no other than Cole’s brother, former “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” co-star Dylan Sprouse.
“Riverdale” Season 2 is expected to premiere in October. There is no word as to how many episodes were ordered for the second installment.
