Nizhny Novgorod region Gov. Gleb Nikitin said air defenses downed more than 100 drones on Nov. 1 and reported significant damage at an unnamed industrial enterprise in Kstovo district.

Nikitin’s first post said preliminary information indicated no injuries. In a later update, he said drone debris injured a woman in a car. She received hospital treatment and was released; her life was not in danger, he said.

The Independent said Ukrainian outlets described a major fire at a Kstovo oil refinery, while residents reported hearing explosions. The outlet did not establish that the refinery was the damaged site, which Nikitin identified only as an industrial facility.

In a statement cited by Interfax, the Investigative Committee of Russia attributed the attack to Ukrainian armed formations and said it opened a criminal case under Article 205, which concerns terrorism. The committee said investigators were working to determine the drones’ type and model and identify people it considers involved.
