More South Korean tech companies started implementing a work-from-home arrangement due to the coronavirus infections increasing to 15,761.
The list includes Kakao Corp., Naver Corp., Nexon Co., SK Telecom Co., and KT Corp.
According to an official of Kakao Corp., the operator of mobile messaging app Kakao Talk, while there has been no confirmed case among its employees, they have been indefinitely allowed to work from home as a precautionary measure.
Kakao Corp. previously implemented a remote working set up from late February and to July 7.
South Korea's top internet portal operator Naver Corp. also began partial work-from-home arrangements starting last week.
Employees only report at the office twice a week and work at home for four days.
Gaming giant Nexon Co. will also allow a partial work-from-home set-up with employees reporting at the office only twice a week.
SK Telecom Co. will be enforcing a remote-work system until Aug. 23, which would be the third time it has employed the policy since February.
Meanwhile, KT Corp. is adopting a partial work-from-home arrangement until Aug. 23.
Both telecom operators have reported infections in their Seoul headquarters.
