LG CNS Co has secured a 100 billion-won deal to build Indonesia's core tax administration system (CTAS) be used by 42 million taxpayers and 32,000 tax officials.
It was the largest e-government system contract by a South Korean firm.
LG CNS, an IT service unit of South Korea's LG Group, plans to establish the system using the latest technologies, including cloud and big data, by the end of 2024.
The company's previous projects with the Indonesian government were to set up a digital system for the country's national police agency in 2007 and the national financial information system in 2015.
The said projects helped it secure the CTAS deal.
Seoul's National Tax Agency will conduct training programs for their Indonesian counterparts to better manage tax services.
