Samsung C&T Fashion Group opened the first AMI flagship store in South Korea in 2022, targeting the Korean MZ generation. The French designer brand is already gaining popularity around the world, and most of its customers are millennials and Gen Z.
The Garosu-gil store is the country's largest AMI location - measuring about 508.22 square meters or 154 pyeong. It has four levels filled with AMI Heart products amid the Paris-inspired interior.
Yonhap News Agency reported that Samsung C&T is further expanding AMI by launching the brand’s first Duty-free store in Myeong-dong. The company brought the fashion brand to duty-free as part of its efforts to reach more customers, globally, particularly those from South Korea, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.
As AMI’s official distributor and operator in South Korea, Samsung C&T said it will add more locations later. The new outlet was built inside Lotte Duty-Free’s branch in the busy fashion mecca of Myeondong.
As shared by Samsung Corp’s fashion business arm, the new AMI branch occupies 33.3 square meters of space. Visitors will find various clothing pieces in the shop, including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, bags, baseball caps, and more. All of these items will feature AMI’s famous heart logo.
The company shared that the fashion brand’s 2023 F/W season collection will also be sold in the duty-free store branch. As per Korea’s News1, Samsung C&T Fashion Group opened an AMI shop at a duty-free establishment to expand further and add more sales channels.
“We will continue to secure various types of sales channels such as department stores, street stores, online, and duty-free stores to expand contact points through which we can communicate with various customers,” the company stated.
Meanwhile, customers will find the outlet on the 10th floor of Lotte Duty-Free Shop’s main branch in Myeongdong.
