The Galaxy S21 series might not be the only thing that will keep Samsung busy for the first half of 2021. Another report recently emerged online suggesting that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could already be approaching the final stages before entering production. Meanwhile, fans of the big cover screen will also be delighted with the latest report about the display specs.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 release date
The relatively new product line of foldable smartphones has had retail launch schedules in the fall of 2019 and earlier this year. However, there have been reports suggesting that Samsung is moving the release dates of its premium devices in 2021, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Instead of being launched in September, just like the first two devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to launch within the first half of 2021. While Samsung has yet to provide any clue that this report is true, YouTube channel Random Stuff 2 suggested that the device is already being tested in the field.
The channel recently uploaded a video featuring what appears to be a test unit of Galaxy S21 Plus. By the end of the video, Random Stuff 2 mentioned that he has also been using the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
While the leaker did not provide specific details about the foldable device, he hinted that it has been performing with “crazy” numbers. MSPowerUser suggested that it could be an indication that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has also gone into field testing, which suggests it could enter production in early 2021.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 design
As for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 design, there was an earlier report that Samsung is going back to a smaller cover screen possibly similar to the first product of the series. However, new information coming from leaker Tron (@cozyplanes on Twitter) saying the foldable device “will maintain a big external display.”
That could mean the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would be shipped with a cover screen similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 released earlier this year. It was a major upgrade as it sports more than six inches of display with thin bezels giving it a more premium look than the one on the first Galaxy Fold.
