Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, two leading South Korean tech giants, make their first appearance at the IAA Mobility 2023 in Messe Munich, Germany, Sept. 5-10, without Hyundai Motor. Aimed at showcasing their cutting-edge automotive technologies, their participation underscores a strategic shift toward the burgeoning electric and electronic components market among an estimated 400,000 attendees from 95 countries.
It was noted that Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are joining the motor show without the other major South Korean firm, Hyundai Motor. The companies’ participation is part of their aggressive move to be on top of the growing electric and electronic components market since they see these products as their next growth engines.
Moreover, both tech firms want to display their capabilities related to the next-generation automotive technologies in an international setting. Joining the prestigious motor show event will also help Samsung and LG expand their customer base worldwide.
As per Business Korea, business insiders said that LG Electronics, Samsung’s Device Solution (DS) unit and Samsung Display are joining the IAA Mobility 2023. This will be the trio’s first appearance at the motor show.
On the other hand, regulars at the same expo - LG Magna and Samsung SDI - are also setting up their exhibition booths. The two have continuously been in major events, including the IAA Mobility.
Energy Portal reported that the German Association of the Automotive Industry organized the grand motor show. It is a well-known affair attracting major vehicle and auto components companies worldwide yearly. The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Experience Connected Mobility.”
Finally, the participation of LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics at the IAA Mobility 2023 shows their firm commitment to the booming electric market in the auto sector as this industry continues to transition towards electrification and connected vehicles. Moreover, the companies’ determination to innovate in automotive technologies is also evident.
