Samsung Electronics Co. will close its TV manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China, by end-November as it tries to boost efficiency at its production bases worldwide.
The plant has some 300 workers.
Samsung Electronics has been stopping its manufacturing operations in China. It closed its smartphone factory in Tianjin in 2018 and its plant in Huizhou last year.
The company also plans to halt production at its PC plant in Suzhou.
Samsung Electronics still operates a home appliance plant in Suzhou and a chip factory n Xian.
The company was recently awarded a $6.64 billion order by Verizon to provide wireless communication solutions in the US.
Analysts observe that Samsung improved global prospects for its network business following US sanctions on Huawei.
Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg said that his company does not use any Huawei equipment.
