ST. LOUIS, Feb. 05, 2018 -- With the introduction of 219 SynForce™ Green, a multi-purpose extreme pressure bearing and chassis grease, Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants is once again pushing the boundaries of its synthetic heavy machinery lubricants, company officials announced today.
Also announced was the promotion of Jim Carroll, who led the development of 219 SynForce™ Green, the officials added. Previously vice president of Technical Services for Schaeffer, Carroll now holds the title executive vice president of Operations. He has been with the company for 20 years.
219 SynForce™ Green is the company’s most advanced extreme pressure grease to date, making it a perfect fit for the heavy-duty machinery used in severe operating conditions found at construction, agriculture, mining and trucking work sites. The new product significantly reduces friction, alleviates wear, reduces contact area temperature, and helps provide increased equipment life, less downtime and extended lubrication cycles.
“We design lubricants like 219 SynForce™ Green to keep heavy machinery operating optimally in the harsh environmental conditions they contend with every day,” said Jay Schaeffer Shields, president of Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants. “Thanks to Jim Carroll’s leadership and the advances emerging from his lab in St. Louis, our lubricants and oils consistently stay a step ahead of the competition and meet or exceed the durability standards set by equipment manufacturers.”
Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants continues to be at the forefront of developing advanced additive systems, viscosity modifier technologies, and other elements which help extend the lives of the equipment using the company’s products, Shields added.
As executive vice president of Operations, Carroll will lead a team of dedicated people and take Schaeffer’s operational excellence to a new level. His responsibilities include Technical Services, Production, Freight and Logistics, Material Management and Purchasing.
Prior to joining Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants, Carroll worked at National Steel/Granite City Division in operations technology and as a process manager.
Carroll is a retired Colonel in the United States Army and a highly-decorated combat veteran. He served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Military decorations and awards include: Legion of Merit, Bronze Star (2 awards), Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), and Combat Action Badge.
