CLEARWATER, Fla., May 04, 2017 -- This week, Scientology Volunteer Ministers announced their campaign to deal with illegal dumping on one neighborhood in Clearwater Florida. Every week for the past four weeks, the Volunteer Ministers have fanned out in force in the North Greenwood community picking up TVs, furniture, bottles and other thrash dumped along the train tracks and other parts of North Greenwood.

Ms. Glendy Goodsell, Executive Director of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Florida chapter said, “Our local police department told us that clean neighborhoods lower the crime rate, so we decided to create a team willing to spend their Saturday mornings cleaning up neighborhoods in Clearwater.” Goodsell said that Greenwood is less than a mile from their Florida headquarters in downtown Clearwater. The neighborhood has been plagued with illegal dumping. So the Volunteer Ministers have chosen that neighborhood to begin the campaign to deal with illegal dumping of thrash and thus lower crime rates.
Goodsell also said that Greenwood residents have taken notice, some joining in the cleanup as things gained momentum.
“After watching you, I feel I need to do something to help someone else,” said another.
