The action-adventure title “Sea of Thieves” is getting a new round of Bilge Rat Adventures along with updates in patch 1.1.4 this week.
The latest “Bilge Rat Adventures” installment is called Gunpowder Skeletons, and that title pretty much explains the basic concept of the event. In this gameplay, skeletons are carrying a gunpowder keg so players can light them up and let them explode once these living bones run towards them
The developers also hinted that players will have to be creative in finding the fuse and how they can successfully light it up. “The Bilge Rats are challenging all brave pirates to defeat them in various ways, some less conventional than others! Keep an ear perked for a burning fuse, and a finger on the trigger,” the event overview reads.
With that, players will have to be familiar with the important gameplay elements that were updated in time for the “Gunpowder Skeletons” event. For example, exploding gunpowder kegs have been made so powerful that they can make the ship move or change its direction. So these gunpowder kegs can either sink the ship or be used to the player’s advantage.
Luckily, the developers have also updated the fuse to avoid getting killed unnecessarily. When players are using a gunpowder keg, there will be a five-second time difference from the time the fuse has been lit to when the explosion actually happens.
As usual, the event has Gunpowder Skeleton Commendation that, when completed, rewards players with certain amounts of Bilge Rat Doubloons. These missions are posted in the progress screen, so players can track how much they still have to work on before the time-limited event expires on July 10. Completing all the Commendations will bring players a total of 150 Bilge Rat Doubloons.
Of course, earned doubloons can be used to purchase exclusive cosmetic items such as Bone Crusher Sword, Pistol, Blunderbuss, and Eye of Reach, which are available the in-game store until July 10 as well.
“Sea of Thieves” can be played on the PC and Xbox One.
