The recently announced Xbox Game Pass by Microsoft is meant to energize the brand and help players fall in love with the console again. Unfortunately, having access to so many games does present the conundrum involving storage space. Enter Seagate and its officially sanctioned external storage hardware that offers 4TB of space.
For those who don’t already know, the Xbox Game Pass is a service that allows gamers to have access to dozens of games via paid subscription. A lot of the games were from the previous generation but there are some from the present. In any case, the service is launching today and it presents the dilemma of limited space, Forbes reports.
Even with the console’s units that sport the biggest data capacity, it simply won’t be enough if the players want to download a lot of the games that are available. Since Seagate and Xbox have a history of collaborating to provide gamers with external storage in the past, it’s not exactly strange that they would do so again. The result is the Seagate Game Drive that is specifically made for the Xbox Game Pass Special Edition.
Offering a huge amount of space that can often by ten times what some players might have access to, this hardware setup can solve the problems that subscribers of the Netflix-style service might have. There are actually two options with regards to this product, one offers 2TB of space and the other offers 4TB, Extreme Tech notes. They cost $90 and $130 respectively.
Making these offers even more intriguing is the matter of free subscriptions to the Xbox Game Pass service. The smaller unit nets gamers one month of free subscription while the bigger provides two months of access to dozens of titles at no charge. The prices might be steep, but there are savings to be made for those who want to become subscribers to the $9.99/month services, to begin with.
