“Seven Deadly Sins” is such a popular show that when its previous installment ended last June 30, fans have been looking for news about “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 ever since. Unfortunately for fans, there has been no official announcement about when “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 will come and – to make matters worse – no news if it will even get made.
Fans have been so desperate for news about the upcoming installment that confusion about “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 being released on Netflix popped up on the show's own subreddit. Unfortunately for fans, the confusion simply came about due to Netflix tagging the show's second season as “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3. The truth about the upcoming installment's future is even more troubling.
According to OtakuKart, "Seven Deadly Sins'" last episode ended by adapting the manga's chapter 143. Considering that the current manga is already way past 280 chapters, the amount of story material to adapt into animated form for “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 is not an issue. But it seems that story material is not the challenge as much as having actual people work on the upcoming installment.
It seems that the future of “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 hinges on A-1 Pictures' willingness to pursue the show's follow-up season. Otaku Kart mentions that A-1 Pictures is currently busy working on certain other ongoing shows. The two shows mentioned are “Sword Art Online: Alicization” and “Fairy Tail.”
The studio has yet to release an official announcement about working on “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3. If A-1 Pictures finishes its current work on “Sword Art Online: Alicization” and “Fairy Tale” in late 2018 or early 2019, fans can potentially expect the studio to work on “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 in early 2019.
Fans looking forward to “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 may have to sit tight for a bit until A-1 Pictures confirms that they will be working on it. If the studio does decide to push through with making “Seven Deadly Sins” season 3, fans may have to wait for a broadcast date sometime in 2019.
