TAIPEI, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif., Oct. 07, 2016 -- Silicon Motion Technology Corporation (NasdaqGS: SIMO)(“Silicon Motion” or the “Company”), a global leader in designing and marketing NAND flash controllers for solid state storage devices, announces that based upon its preliminary third quarter financial results, sequential revenue growth is expected to be 11% to 13%, significantly higher than its original guidance range of an increase of 0% to 5% that the company issued on July 22, 2016. Gross margin (non-GAAP) is expected to be in the 48% to 49% range, above the company's original guidance range of 46% to 48%.
The Company will release its full third quarter 2016 results after the market closes on October 27, 2016. The Company will host a conference call on October 28, at 8 am Eastern Time, to discuss its results.
