Song Hye Kyo recently showed her support for the people of Wuhan through social media. She expressed her concern to the citizens of the Chinese city, where it was confirmed to be the center of the coronavirus that has already spread throughout the world.
The actress’ IG post
Now, it was said that because of her Wuhan post, Song Hye Kyo is being bashed by the Chinese people. The New Straits Times reported that she drew the ire of many Chinese and netizens, and they questioned her sincerity because they believe she is not doing enough to help. They said that she could have done more rather than simply encouraging people to fight the new virus that already claimed the lives of over 400 people worldwide.
It can be recalled that early this week, Song Hye Kyo used social media to show everyone that she cares for everyone affected by the outbreak. The “Descendants of the Sun” actress voiced out her support by reposting a GIF clip that shows the words “Love for Human, Love for Wuhan.”
She simply captioned the reported clip with praying hands emoji, and it was liked by many of her followers. However, there are many negative reactions to the comment section, and this is probably one of the reasons why commenting was turned off on that specific post.
What the critics are saying
Based on the report, some people think that posting on Instagram will not help anyone. They said that Song Hye Kyo should have donated money instead because funds are badly needed to fight the virus outbreak.
“Encouraging Wuhan will not ease the epidemic,” one netizen commented while another one wrote, “This also can be trending? Have you donated” and “One message can win goodwill and continue to earn money, it is easy to earn Chinese money.”
Meanwhile, is was not just Song Hye Kyo who posted the clip on their social media. The actress’ friend, actor Yoo Ah In, also shared the same clip, but sadly, it was only Song Joong Ki’s ex-wife who was bashed. Currently, her Instagram post already got more than 800,000 reactions with no comments visible.
