Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo: Why the ex 'Descendants of the Sun' couple is not reconciling despite the reports

Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki stunned the world when the latter stepped out and revealed that he and his wife had ended their marriage. It was in June last year when the actor, through his lawyer, filed for divorce at the Seoul Family Court, and he also released his official statement.

The actor said that he is regretfully announcing his divorce but did not really say the cause of their split. Then again, he asked the public to give them privacy and said that he will not say anything more because he does not want any party to be hurt.

He just wants to have a quiet separation and wishes that the public will understand him. It was then reported that Song Hye Kyo belatedly learned that her husband has gone public and filed for divorce.

Based on the articles, the actress only came to know about it through the reports because she was out of the country for a schedule. When Hye Kyo arrived, she also released a statement through her agency, United Artists Agency (UAA) Korea, and they indicated “difference in personality” as the cause.

Reunion rumors

The Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce was finalized in July, just a month after it was filed. And five months after, it was rumored that the ex-couple have reconciled. As per Allkpop, the two are getting along well again after patching things up. It was first reported by the Chinese media and was picked up by various publications.

The rumors started after Hye Kyo spotted wearing a couple of rings during her pictorial for the January issue of W Korea magazine. They alleged that one of the bands she was wearing at that time is her wedding ring, and this suggests that they have reconciled.

Meanwhile, the reconciliation rumors are definitely false, and in fact, it was debunked by Today Online. The publication stated that the actress’ pieces of jewelry could be ones that she is modeling for Chaumet, and it is absolutely not her wedding band.

Finally, KDramaStars noted that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo has still many unresolved issues with their short-lived marriage, so it is impossible to reconcile. It is not even half a year, yet since their divorce was finalized, so they still have things to fix between themselves; thus, the idea of a reunion is farfetched.
