KT, South Korea’s leading telecom company, has announced the launch of a blockchain-based platform for web novel writers.
Dubbed “Blice,” the platform will allow web fiction writers to upload their own works to the site, register and sell them. The platform launched in beta last month.
By using blockchain technology, the platform ensures data protection for writers and users. KT’s blockchain technology manages electronic documents such as merchant contracts. Once upgraded, the technology will also check the content for plagiarism.
The platform also leverages Big Data analysis to reduce user’s time to select works and to search appropriate content. It is available on both Android and iOS.
"Based on the know-how accumulated through years of experience in publishing and distribution, and the unique technology of KT, [Blice] is a platform for writers to communicate with readers in a stable manner,” Jeon Dae-jin, managing director of KT's content platform, said (loosely translated).
