‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Premiere Date, Update: Luke Resurrected, ‘Doctor Who’ Will He Won’t He Appear

Even though the film is set to premiere on December, this has not stopped speculations about “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” from bombarding the web. Prediction range to include everything from the emperor supposedly controlling everything from behind the scenes to Luke (Mark Hamill) getting resurrected. To be fair, the latter does have some corroborating evidence to back it up.

The matter of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” potentially seeing a revived Luke stems from a translated title to Polish. Instead of saying “Rise,” it reads “Resurrect,” WeGotThisCovered reports. As a result, many fans are now freaking out that the previous film might not have spelled the demise of the Skywalker line, after all.

Then again, there are theories that this could be nothing more than a bad translation. What’s more, even if the title is correct, it could be referring to another Skywalker such as Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) or Rey (Daisy Ridley). These are just some of the contentions with regards to the translated title of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

On a related note, another character who is expected to be in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is that of Matt Smith who is one of the most popular iterations of The Doctor from “Doctor Who.” This particular assertion has always been a hot one among British fans and a recent slip-up does not help matters. An article literally inserted the actor’s name in along with the others confirmed to appear in the film.

The Dec. 20 premiere of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will likely clear everything up nicely. It might even be that all of the misinformation will be blown away as the movie gets closer to hitting theatres. Either way, fans will have to wait for a bit more time.
