As promised, the annual Steam Summer Sale is here and boy does it deliver on the hype. Multiple AAA games are up for grabs at ridiculously low prices, along with their various DLCs and extra features. Some indie titles have attractive discounts as well, which is promising in terms of diversity. What’s more, some of these discounts could get even steeper for those who know how to play the game.
By and large, the huge sale event has become something of a festival for gamers, full of laughter and tears throughout the two that it’s going to be going on. It’s also the time of year when PC owners start joking about living off of ramen and sending out memes about wallets with flies buzzing overhead. The event is so popular that it even caused Steam’s servers to crash, PC Mag reports.
For those who haven’t really been participating in the Summer Sale, there are three aspects that are worthiest of note. There are the Today’s Highlight deals, which is basically the game discounts that Valve is pushing for any given day. Then there’s the actual Summer Sale page itself, which features the thousands of games that are being offered on a steep price cut.
What gamers really want to pay attention to, however, is the Top-Selling corner, where the best AAA games with the best discounts are usually found. Forbes even compiled a list of some of the games found in this section, which includes Shadow of Mordor at 80 percent off and Dark Souls II at 60 percent off.
Anyone who wants to get the very best discounts will want to watch out for certain special offers that can drastically reduce the prices of certain games as well. However, this requires quite a bit of checking back, which has become almost a game in and of itself to dedicate Steam shoppers.
