Filming for “Stranger Things” season 4 was already underway when the cast and crew suddenly had to pull out from the filming set. In March, the production was halted as the coronavirus outbreak got worst and blew up to be a pandemic. This threat to health is now a global issue that continues to claim lives worldwide.
The production is on hiatus for nearly six months now and with that amount of time lost, the schedule of “Stranger Things” season 4 has seriously been altered. This means that the sci-fi series will also not be back on the initial target premiere date. As a result, fans will have to wait longer for the fourth installment to arrive.
The good news came last month when The Hollywood Reporter reported that filming of “Stanger Things” season 4 is set to resume on Sept. 17. The publication added that all the cast members were informed about their work resumption so they can prepare ahead
Maya Hawke’s honest thoughts on new filming date
However, Maya Hawke who plays Robin Buckley in the series said that it seems the date will be move again. She said that while it is true they were supposed to resume next month, the date is now up in the air since the COVID-19 situation has not really improved.
Hawke revealed this detail to AP Entertainment last week. She said the September filming date is now uncertain but “we’ll see.” The star shared that she is not sure if the date set for next month is a realistic goal or not.
Still, she is grateful to Netlfix and the production team for considering their safety first above anything else. She also said that all of them are excited to return to the set.
Ross Duffer addressed season 4 finale rumors
Meanwhile, there are speculations that “Stranger Things” season 4 would be the last in the series. The show creators Matt and Ross Duffer spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to dismissed such rumors.
“Season 4 won’t be the end,” Ross said. “We know what the end is and we know when it is. The coronavirus pandemic has given us time to look ahead and figure out what is best for the show.”
