The Street Fighter franchise is no stranger to crossovers and neither is the Monster Hunter series. As such, it really is no surprise that Capcom is bringing these two iconic properties together for its latest dinosaur skinning simulator. Gamers who bought Street Fighter V will be able to gain access to some of the characters in Monster Hunter World.
Among the characters that will soon become available for players to play with include Street Fighter mainstays Ryu and Sakura, according to the Capcom Unity blog. They won’t technically be brought to the game in any canonical sense. Rather, players will be able to get armor sets that will change the appearance of their characters to suit whoever they chose.
Capcom also did the same thing with Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Aloy, in which the bow-wielding heroin could also be played in MHW. Once the new skins have been obtained, players will be treated to some extra special moves and effects that are reminiscent of the originals.
In any case, getting ahold of the skins will apparently require players to embark on a mission titled “Down the Dark, Muddy Path” that will allow them to special “SFV Tickets” to get the armor sets. PlayStation 4 players who have SFV data saved in their consoles will apparently get the skins sooner than others. The developers assure players on Xbox One and those who didn’t buy SFV that the skins will become available to everyone eventually.
On top of the skins, however, some super special gestures will apparently be included in the update. As GameSpot notes, these will include the iconic Hadouken move by Ryu. While the pose will be free, the gesture itself will need to be purchased for $3.99.
There is no exact date for the launch of these features yet. Players will need to stay tuned for more details.
