The Roy children continue to fight to claim their spot as the head of the family business, leaving fans anticipating what comes next in the third season and most especially when it comes out. With the cast getting back into filming, it is possible that season three of Succession may be out this summer.
The critically-acclaimed HBO drama has everyone at the edge of their seats with all the intrigue and drama going on between the Roy siblings. However, when asked about what happens in the third season, Sarah Snook, who plays Siobhan Roy, the wild card amongst the siblings for the head of the empire, revealed that they start filming this year. Snook said that they have no idea what is going to happen and all they know is that they start filming this year.
Which leaves everyone wondering when the premiere of the third season takes place. Esquire reports that it will likely air in the latter half of the summer this year given that filming is now underway in the midst of awards season.
Fans can only speculate about what might happen in the newest season. However, Brian Cox, who plays the Roy family head Logan Roy, revealed to Metro what he hopes could happen in the third season. If it was up to him, Cox reveals that he would have Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin) placed front and center. As to why he feels Roman should take center stage, Cox explained, “He had a big thing at the end of last season. I think Roman is going to be considerable.”
As fans can recall, Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) publicly criticized his father, which surprisingly worked out for him at the end given Logan’s reaction towards his son. Kendall also proved how far he is willing to go to take his place on the Roy empire throne as the second season ended with him stabbing Logan. Knowing that the investors wanted Logan to step down, it bears wondering if Logan was hoping Kendall would put him out of the picture for good as a way to prove himself. However, Logan may retaliate, whether through blackmailing Kendall as the sole witness to the waiter’s accidental death, or some other means. Whatever happens after that is sure to have viewers anticipating what Kendall is going to do next.
