“Supernatural” season 14 is about to air, and prior to the premiere, its showrunners revealed a sneak peek of what fans can expect when the series returns. Like other returning TV shows, the preview was also unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 22.
Although the trailer did not reveal much, fans were delighted to see a glimpse of the much-awaited TV series. The show started filming not long ago, so it is understandable why the trailer is very short.
Story
“Supernatural” season 14 will pick up from where season 13 ended. It was the time when Michael, the archangel, betrayed his deal after Lucifer's defeat. Episode 1 begins with a man praying in the morning, then the archangel appears and tells him not to be afraid. But the man looks totally terrified, then the scene ends.
Moreover, showrunner Andrew Dabb also disclosed that Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be playing a new role in “Supernatural” season 14. His real mannerism will be revealed and fans should see how his new character will play out in the series.
Episodes
“Supernatural” season 14 will only have 20 episodes as opposed to the usual 23-episode run. As to why this is the case, Ackles explained during his interview with TV Line, “Shaving a couple of episodes off gives us almost an extra month out of our year, which when you only get about a two-and-half-month hiatus, it goes really quickly.”
Cast and Air Date
The showrunners of “Supernatural” season 14 said that Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), Rowena (Ruth Connell), Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) are all coming back. Mark Pellegrino, who played as Lucifer, may not be in the cast line up for this season since he was already killed off in season 13 finale. The series returns to The CW on Oct. 11.
