A new series will be introduced in an episode of “Supernatural” Season 13. According to Deadline, the new spinoff will be featuring the ladies of The CW show, which is starred by all-male protagonists.
“Supernatural”, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, revolves around the Winchester brothers who hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings. The spinoff, which is titled “Wayward Daughters,” will be headlined by “Supernatural” breakout star Kim Rhodes, who plays Sheriff Jody Mills in the original series. She will lead a group of troubled young women who have all been orphaned from supernatural events. The group will be a monster-fighting force fighting supernatural elements.
Rhodes, who has since appeared in 12 episodes in the show, was first introduced in Season 5. Aside from “Supernatural,” she also appeared in USA’s “Colony” in a recurring role and on CBS’ “Criminal Minds.”
Variety said “Supernatural” showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer will executive produce the pilot together with Phil Sgriccia and Robert Berens, while Dabb and Berens are tasked to writes the new show’s script. On the other hand, it has been clarified that apart from Rhodes, there will no other cast members from the original series who will be featured in the pilot.
“Wayward Daughters” will be featuring all new cast members, but there have been much speculation about who the new cast members are. Buddy TV said that while Jody Mills taking the lead in the new series, it was only right that we’d also see Mills’ foster daughters, Claire Novak and Alex Jones, in the show, and Donna Hascum, Jody's co-worker and hunting apprentice.
