On Thursday, “Supernatural” stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki announced at The CW’s 2017 Upfronts Presentation that they will do a special, animated “Scooby Doo” crossover for its 13th season. Entertainment Weekly has later confirmed that it is indeed happening, but no details have been provided following the announcement.
However, an image showing the iconic dog sleuth and the Winchester brothers against a haunted house backdrop was shown at the event, exciting the fans nevertheless about the upcoming 13th season, which Den of Geek tweeted.
Moviefone said while the animated series episode remains a mystery, The CW revealed the show’s synopsis for its 12th season, which read as follows:
"In the show's twelfth season, the Winchesters were reunited with their long-dead mother, and joined forces with the British arm of the Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil is expecting a child. Now, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a creature of almost unimaginable power... one that could save the world... or destroy it."
And as for what a theoretical episode would look like if Scooby Doo and the Winchester brothers join forces? Sharon Knolle for the site wrote, “We imagine it will include ghosts that turn out to be land-grabbing neighbors, the team splitting up and lots of midnight snacking. Which actually sounds like a regular episode of "Supernatural." Jinkies!”
