“Sword Art Online Alicization” Episode 3 continues the adventures of Kirito who appears to be trapped in another virtual game world that he has been playing. In the previous installment, it was revealed that Eugeo’s entire purpose in life was to cut down a really tough tree, which has withstood generations of woodcutters. Will Kirito bring it down “SAO” style with a legendary sword that Eugeo gives him?

In a preview clip posted via the Japanese Twitter account of the show, it is revealed that “Sword Art Online Alicization” Episode 3 will see Kirito getting a sweet new blade. As showcased in the previous episode, it would appear that sword skills can be used in the world that he is currently trapped in. Since he is the fabled black swordsman, Kirito might use the sword to finally cut down the “Demon Tree.”

A roughly translated synopsis of “Sword Art Online Alicization” Episode 3 was also posted over at Omnitos, which reveals that Kirito is intent on setting out for the capital. He will need Eugeo to guide him there, which is convenient since the woodcutter also has his own reasons for going. Only his duty regarding the tree is preventing him from setting out, which Kirito might address shortly.
