SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 20, 2016 -- Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ:SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced its Natural ID™ fingerprint sensors for secure authentication are integrated into Lenovo’s new Yoga 910 convertible laptop. Natural ID fingerprint sensors are designed to enable one-touch secure login to the PC and are backed by enterprise-grade security. The Yoga 910 also features Synaptics’ ClearPad® touchscreen controller and ClickPad™ solutions, delivering an advanced user-experience with touch, swipe, pinch and other gestures on the screen and on the keyboard touchpad.
With its highly responsive and beautiful 13.9-inch touchscreen, the thin and elegant Yoga 910 convertible supports multiple usage modes with its unique 360-degree watchband hinge. Yoga 910’s high-performance keyboard boasts a button-free ClickPad touchpad, and with a touch of a finger, users can quickly log onto their PC using Microsoft Windows Hello via its FIDO® Certified Synaptics fingerprint sensor.
Natural ID fingerprint sensors are available with Synaptics SentryPoint™ technology, offering OEMs a range of security features. Dedicated fingerprint sensor memory provides secure storage for biometric information, and support for state-of-the-art TLS 1.2 encryption that secures communication between the fingerprint sensor and the system.
“Yoga 910 offers enhanced biometric authentication for consumer PCs, and we’re excited to partner with Synaptics to help our customers move away from pins and passwords to stronger authentication using enterprise-grade biometric sensors,” said Johnson Jia, senior vice president, PC & Smart Device Business Group, Lenovo.
“Users often prefer performing high value transactions on their PC over other form factors. As such, expectations are that the PC has a higher standard of security. By leveraging Synaptics’ Natural ID on the Lenovo Yoga 910, Synaptics is accelerating the adoption of more secure biometric fingerprint authentication,” said Huibert Verhoeven, senior vice president and general manager, Human Interface Systems Division, Synaptics.
