T Map Mobility Co. had signed an agreement with the Seoul Trucking Association to introduce its navigation service that avoids roads impassable to cargo trucks due to weight limits while drawing out the safest route for drivers.
The T-map navigation service provides information on popular cargo truck driver destinations, such as gas stations and service areas, and real-time traffic data.
With T-map Mobility, a unit under telecom operator SK Telecom Co., planning to support the digitalization of South Korea’s cargo truck industry, the association agreed to cooperate in improving navigation systems developed exclusively for cargo trucks.
South Korea recently conducted a trial run of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in preparing a shift to eco-friendly vehicles.
