SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 30, 2017 -- TELEGENIC, Inc. closed their Series-A with over $1MM in funding early this month due to quick-acting private investors. Since it was established in January 2017, TELEGENIC’s team has worked tirelessly to develop, patent, and pre-sell the tech used in its systems. The capital raised in Series-A will be used to complete the final stages of production and testing to install their product with signed customers by the end of the year.
TELEGENIC’s innovative product enables its users to access subscription and non-subscription-based OTT (over-the-top) content from their mobile devices and view it on any equipped television through an easy-to-use interface.
TELEGENIC fills a gap currently existing in IRE (in room entertainment). Increasingly, guests want their own content in their hotel rooms and use their phones, tablets, and laptops to access media, leaving the in-room television unused. Satellite and cable providers don’t offer desired or timely entertainment options that tech-savvy guests require. Additionally, while almost all guests have streaming subscriptions, they are dissuaded from accessing them over the current provided television due to long and cumbersome sign-in processes and/or the hassle and unreliability of screen-mirroring and casting.
The TELEGENIC platform breaks through all the obstacles preventing guests from engaging hotel-provided IRE. In seconds, guests can access all their personal content on the big screen—watching what they want when they want—making their hotel room feel like their living room. Not only will guests be able to pick up where they left off in their favorite show, but they will find interactive hotel information and concierge services as well as local and sports channels with over the air HD programming.
Company CEO Isaac Jacobson explains, “We are building the first ever hotel media platform that is not only disruptive but will entirely replace cable and satellite TV in the hospitality market. Competitors cannot match our high-tech, smooth functionality, customization, or data analytic abilities. We enable hotels to slash their costs, and we provide travelers a truly interactive and personalized media experience.”
Potential clients were so impressed by initial product demos and pricing that TELEGENIC has already signed deals with big brand establishments eager to provide this interactive media solution to their guests and residents.
