Taco Bell is bringing back some of its most beloved discontinued items with its new Decades Menu. Featuring fan favorites like the Tostada, Meximelt, and Gordita Supreme, the menu offers a nostalgic taste of Taco Bell’s history, starting October 31.
Taco Bell Revives Nostalgic Favorites Like the Tostada and Caramel Apple Empanada for Under $3
As part of its new, limited-time "Decades Menu," Taco Bell is bringing back iconic menu items from the 1960s through the 2000s, offering fans a nostalgic taste of the past. The menu allows different generations to relive their favorites and see what Taco Bell’s offerings were like when they were born. "We've introduced some incredible craveable menu items throughout the years and recognize the special place they hold in our fans' lives, even if they're no longer on our menus," Taco Bell shared with Mashed. "The Decades Menu is an ode to our rich history, giving all our fans the chance to bite into some of their iconic favorites once again, or for the very first time."
The menu will include the Tostada from the ‘60s, the Green Sauce Burrito from the ‘70s, the Meximelt from the ‘80s, and the Gordita Supreme from the ‘90s, all available starting October 31. The Caramel Apple Empanada from the 2000s will return later, joining the menu on November 21. This selection taps into nostalgia and focuses on value, with each item priced under $3.
Fans have long missed these throwback items. Taco Bell's Tostada, part of the original 1962 menu, disappeared in 2020 after a menu overhaul. The Green Sauce Burrito, a bean burrito with crunchy onions and a green chili sauce, remains a favorite. At the same time, the Meximelt and Gordita Supreme are such classics that their discontinuation still surprises many. The Y2K-era Caramel Apple Empanada's crisp exterior and gooey interior is a beloved sweet treat that remains fondly remembered on platforms like Reddit.
Taco Bell’s Decades Menu Goes Nationwide with Gordita Supreme and Exclusive Retro Merch Line
The Decades Menu was initially tested in select Southern California locations in August 2024 and is now going nationwide following its successful run. Alongside the return of these nostalgic items, Taco Bell is offering an updated version of the $7 Luxe Cravings Box, which now features the ‘90s Gordita Supreme, replacing the Chalupa Supreme, along with the Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips with nacho cheese, and a medium fountain drink.
Taco Bell is also launching a limited-edition merch line to celebrate the Decades Menu, featuring hoodies and stainless-steel cups with designs showcasing Taco Bell logos from different eras. Fans can grab this retro merch during a "Tuesday Drop" for Rewards Members on October 29 at 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. The Taco Bell app will also feature a weekly Decades personality quiz, letting fans discover their "Taco Bell Archetype" and enter to win the entire line of retro merchandise.
