Tesla and Uber have launched a new incentive program offering up to $2,000 in credits and cash to Uber drivers who purchase a Model 3 or Model Y. This initiative aims to encourage more drivers to adopt electric vehicles, with Tesla providing $1,000 in credits and Uber matching with $1,000 after completing 100 trips.
Tesla's Incentive Program Highlights Model 3 and Model Y, Offering Exclusive Credits for Uber Drivers
Tesla and Uber have implemented a new incentive program, offering a maximum of $2,000 rebates for eligible Model 3 and Model Y purchases, per Teslarati.
Tesla and Uber are encouraging more drivers to adopt electric vehicles for their daily commute. Tesla will provide $1,000 in credits upon delivery, while Uber will provide $1,000 in cash for completing 100 journeys.
Tesla has introduced a new section of its website dedicated to the program, which is described below:
“Eligible Uber drivers who purchase a new Model 3 or Model Y vehicle can receive $1,000 in Tesla Credits upon taking delivery, and $1,000 in cash from Uber after completing 100 trips. Tesla Credits can be used toward Supercharging, a new Tesla vehicle, service appointments or select Tesla Shop or upgrade purchases. Offer available to active Uber drivers in good standing.”
Tesla's promotion includes the Model 3 and Model Y, the most cost-effective and technologically advanced vehicles. Uber drivers are expected to benefit most from these vehicles.
The automaker specifies in the terms at the bottom of the page that Tesla Credits cannot be redeemed for a few items. They cannot be reissued, transferred, or redeemed for cash or used to purchase upgrade subscriptions, gift cards, or alcohol.
EV Universe was the first to recognize the partnership.
Tesla and Uber Strengthen Partnership with Incentives, Aiming to Boost EV Adoption Among Rideshare Drivers
This is not the first instance of collaboration between the two organizations. Earlier this year, Uber provided a $2,000 incentive for the purchase of Model 3 and Model Y.
Tesla officially implemented Uber integration in September to facilitate the navigation and convenience of drivers using the platform for ride-sharing employment.
The partnership will undoubtedly result in several drivers purchasing a Tesla in the market for a new ride-sharing vehicle. The $1,000 in credits would be highly beneficial and could be utilized for Supercharging.
Furthermore, the $1,000 in cash earned after 100 journeys would be an excellent addition to a future car payment or a thoughtful gift after the rides are completed.
Uber has also implemented a comparable discount with Ford for leased electric vehicles.
