“The Elder Scrolls 6” is still years away, so news about the game is few and far in between. As such, hardcore fans of the franchise have resorted to speculations to determine where the game will take place.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to determine where exactly is Bethesda slotting “The Elder Scrolls 6” since Tamriel – the continent where the series is located – is absolutely massive. The good news is that we can rule out places that have already been featured in previous installments.
That means High Rock, Hammerfell, Vvardenfell, Cyrodill, and Skyrim is out. Assuming, of course, Bethesda isn’t planning on revisiting those places for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
The Elder Scrolls 6 might be set in Valenwood
But let’s say that the studio isn’t going to, what are the places that are left? While “The Elder Scrolls 6” can still visit four more places on account that Tamriel is divided into nine provinces, there are actually five more potential locations.
This is due to the fact that Vvardenfell was only featured in “Morrowind” and not the entire province itself. Thus, “The Elder Scrolls 6” may be looking to settle in Morrowind, Elsweyr, Black Marsh, Valenwood, or the Summerset Isle.
Between these provinces, Valenwood has risen to the top due to the rumor that made its round on the web back in 2014. As whispers would have it, “The Elder Scrolls 6” is supposedly going to be developed under “Project Greenheart,” DigitalSpy reported.
Greenheart, of course, is one of the cities situated in Valenwood. The problem here is that the trailer of “The Elder Scrolls 6” doesn’t indicate that Valenwood is the chosen location for the next installment. The location has been described as a place of sub-tropical woodlands, mangrove swamps, and coastal forests – all of which are absent in the trailer.
The Elder Scrolls 6 might be revisiting a previous location
Instead, it showed mountainous sun-beaten regions with craggy slopes and hard-packed earth. There was no sign of verdant green populating the area hinting that “The Elder Scrolls 6” might actually be set in either Hammerfell or High Rock. The former is the likelier choice between the two on account of its sheer size alone, Eurogamer reported.
Of course, it’s important to remember that this is mere speculation at this point, and only the people within Bethesda knows the location of “The Elder Scrolls 6.” As for when it will be released, the game is still a long way off since the studio is still busy developing “Starfield.” “The Elder Scrolls 6” would likely arrive in 2024 or 2025.
