‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 23, titled “Finish Line,” is set to follow Barry Allen as he takes on Savitar in the final showdown following Iris’ untimely demise in “Infantino Street.” It was speculated that the character Savitar actually killed off was H.R. in disguise and not Iris West herself.
The brief synopsis for “Finish Line” posted on TV Guide, “With nothing left to lose, Barry (Grant Gustin) takes on Savitar as Season 3 ends.” The upcoming episode is set to feature an epic showdown between Barry and his future self, Savitar. It seems that Barry will no longer care about the consequences of his actions now that he has nothing left to lose following the untimely demise of his lady love, Iris (Candice Patton).
The previous episode, titled “Infantino Street,” saw the death of Iris in the hands of Savitar following numerous moments of foreshadowing within the series. Barry was unsuccessful in his attempts to save Iris and it seems inevitable that Barry and his villainous doppelganger will finally meet head-to-head in the third season’s finale.
Barry will need to figure our Savitar’s ultimate weakness as his powerful nemesis had been incredibly difficult to defeat despite Team Flash’s efforts.
However, it was speculated that Iris isn’t actually dead and instead, it was H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) who sacrificed himself to save her by way of disguising himself as her. According to Buddy TV, Savitar never killed off Iris and is keeping her somewhere hidden and instead staked H.R. in her place. The theory seems possible considering the series itself didn’t hype up a major character’s death prior to the penultimate episode.
‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 23, titled “Finish Line,” is scheduled to air on The CW on May 23, 2017. It was directed by David McWhirter and written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing.
