There are still a couple more weeks to go before “The Flash” Season 6 episode 10 release arrives next month. The show has been on hiatus since the ninth episode aired on December 10. For fans who just can’t wait for its return, here are a few details about the upcoming episode.
The tenth episode of “The Flash” is titled “Marathon.” Nothing much is known about the upcoming episode since there are still unaired episodes of Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, which would affect the show's future storyline.
Previously, Flash and the superheroes along with Lex Luthor, who switched places with Superman 96 using the Book of Destiny, were sent to the Vanishing Point by Pariah so they’ll be safe from the Anti-Monitor.
However Superman-38 (Tyler Hoechlin), Iris, Pariah, and Elongated Man were left behind. They all vanished into nothingness when the wave of antimatter swallowed the ship whole.
But the good news is that they’ll likely survive the ordeal or, at least Iris will be able to. Just how she will be brought back from being dissolved by antimatter will be explained in the remaining episodes of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
Iris’ survival is revealed by a recent “The Flash” Season 6 Episode 10 promo photo, according to TV Line. The pic shows the journalist inside S.T.A.R. Lab’s med bay with her right arm bandaged. It is still unclear if she got the injury from the crisis or from encounters with the new bad guys which is set to appear in the second half of the sixth season.
With Iris surviving the antimatter wave, it is also possible that the other characters who were with her such as Pariah, Elongated Man, and Superman might have survived as well. Putting this assumption even further, it might even mean that earth would escape complete destruction for still unknown reasons.
However, with the changes that the Crisis would inevitably bring, it could also be used to start some sort of reboot for the show and open up new potential storylines to extend its lifespan. This would come in handy considering that “The Flash” would later become the flagship show of the Arrowverse lineup once “Arrow” is completed this year.
In fact, showrunner Eric Wallace already hinted that events happening in the crossover will have a major impact on “The Flash” storyline. “When you watch the crossover, you’re going to feel those tectonic shifts, especially at the end,” Wallace said. “It’s not small. It’s a game-changer in the same way that the ending of ‘Crisis’-the comic book was a game-changer, and it opens up to a whole new world.”
“The Flash” Season 6 Episode air date is on February 4, 2020. Stay tuned for more updates on your favorite shows.
