For fans of the series, a sigh of relief can now escape their lips since “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 has just been confirmed to have begun production. Considering how the fate of the show was not on the most stable of grounds up until very recently, this is good news, indeed. However, there are some disturbing clues that might point to a missing Uhtred in the Saxon part of the story.
As the International Business Times reports, a new video that provides fans with a look behind the scenes of the production for “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 was just posted on social media. There are a lot of details included in the clip that fans will undoubtedly appreciate. Among them are the period piece costumes that simply make the whole thing complete.
Posted on the official Instagram account for the show, the update provides fans with a huge sense of relief since they now know that they will be getting another season of the show. The caption provides some insight into the progress of the production of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4, as well.
“And we’re back! Did you miss us? Filming has started on season 4 of The Last Kingdom. Stay tuned for updates and sneak peeks behind the scenes with friends and foes, old and new!” the post caption reads.
A noticeable absence in the video, however, is Alexander Dreymon who plays the show’s main character Uhtred. This brought up concerns that he might be missing from one of the more important parts of the story. While there is no guarantee that this is going to be the case, fans can at least feel at ease knowing that he will be back for “The Last Kingdom” Season 4.
With regards to when “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 will be premiering, the answer might not be as straightforward as some are hoping for. Right now, there is no telling when exactly it will come back, but 2020 still seems like a good bet.
