Fans saw Emma and Ray’s group successfully escape by the end of “The Promised Neverland’s” first season, but their quest for genuine freedom is far from over. Expect the demons running the deceptive Grace Field House to immediately go after the children once the series comes back for “The Promised Neverland” season 2.
Based on the manga chapters where the “The Promised Neverland” season 2 premiere would likely be based, the anime series will pick up from the effects of Emma and Ray’s successful escape plan. Isabella will take all the blame, but the demons will be much focused on retrieving the kids, especially after realizing they lost two “premium quality” orphans.
To recap, the story begins by introducing the orphanage situated in a vast ranch where children seem to be happy and are well taken care of. That is until Emma uncovers that secret that every child that gets “adopted” was being fed to demonic creatures — that explains the quality grading. Since most of Emma’s “siblings” are still very young, they deemed it would be more dangerous to bring them out to the real world. So the next plan in “The Promised Neverland” season 2 is how to go back and rescue everyone else.
Meanwhile, Emma and Ray’s group will be wandering around the forest at the beginning of “The Promised Neverland” season 2. Discovering the very unfamiliar outside world alone is already complicated. But the challenges will not end there because the forest they are in is filled with mysteries. They are also aware that the demons will immediately arrange efforts to follow them and get them back.
The beginning of “The Promised Neverland” season 2 is also a good time to revisit Emma’s great leadership skills. Meanwhile, Ray is still processing the realization that he found a real family in the kids he helped to escape. “The Promised Neverland” season 2 was announced last March and was confirmed to be released in 2020.
