“The Walking Dead” Season 9 is simultaneously highly anticipated and dreaded for several reasons. On the one hand, it means more zombie drama for fans to enjoy. However, this is also the season where Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) will leave the show. Thanks to clips released online, fans have a better idea of what to expect from the series, including one where Daryl (Norman Reedus) walks away from Rick.
A clip for “The Walking Dead” Season 9 was provided to Comicbook.com which featured a scene where Rick was trying to convince Daryl to go back to Alexandria and help him out. However, the crossbow-wielding character said that he will be going to Hilltop instead. This represents how much the dynamic in the group has changed following the events they experienced over the last few seasons.
Daryl no longer feels comfortable to be around his former leader and it seems a lot of people feel the same way. On that note, it isn’t as if Rick doesn’t have enough to keep him occupied and it seems that he has found some measure of peace. A clip of the first five minutes of the “The Walking Dead” Season 9 premiere shows this, which is posted on Express.
For those who want a bit more context as to what the “The Walking Dead” Season 9 premiere has in store for fans, Deadline already has a review out that’s worth checking out. It covers the episode’s debut during the New York Comic Con.
One of the most jarring aspects of this new season appears to be the optimism that permeates the first episode. There’s no telling when this will last, but at least “The Walking Dead” Season 9 premiere on Oct. 7 will ease fans back in.
