“The Winds of Winter” has yet to be published, and it was reported that George RR Martin surprisingly said when he will release the much-awaited book. Fans have been demanding for the publication of “TWOW” since the author made a promise many times, but he failed to deliver each time.
Martin talks about the book’s release
Last weekend, the 71-year-old author seemed to have mentioned once again when he is planning to publish “The Winds of Winter.” According to TMZ Sports, Martin, who is a big fan of the New York football team, the Giants said that he will finish the sixth book in the “A Song of Fire and Ice” novel series before his favorite team wins in the next Super Bowl.
“I’ll probably finish the saga first,” the author allegedly said. Although this can be good news, fans are a bit disappointed since this may mean that it may take another decade before “The Winds of Winter” arrives since the Giants are not really doing great in the league these days.
Why the book is taking forever to finish
In any case, Martin was also interviewed by WGN Radio not long ago. During the talks, he opened up about his failure to release “The Winds of Winter” on time and shared the causes for the number of delays.
It should be noted that the book was supposed to come out years ago, so many of the fans are really frustrated now for having to wait such long and constant delays too. First off, the author admitted that he knew about the fans’ and despite this, they continue to wait, and Martin said that he is grateful for this.
Now, he said that the main reason for the delay of “The Winds of Winter” was “Game of Thrones” because after the show aired, his popularity really shoots up, and this fame took a toll on him. As a result, he lost the time to work and focus on writing the remaining books in his “ASOIAF” novel.
Lastly, he said too many distractions came up that he also messed up the characters in “The Winds of Winter.” With the chaos and everything, he started to struggle to finish the book. “There was a period where the show caught and past me, and I hadn’t anticipated that happening, so there was a tremendous amount of stress on me a few years ago when that was about to happen but hadn’t happened yet, and I was desperately trying to finish Winds and stay ahead,” he said in the interview.
