The Witcher season 2 will no longer be confusing its viewers as all characters will exist in one timeline.
This was revealed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich as reported by the Digital Spy. Hissrich is the showrunner of Netflix's fantasy series which stars Henry Cavill.
Hissrich has told The Wrap that the different timelines of season 1 became very controversial as it has confused many viewers.
She, however, said the multiple timelines were necessary for the narrative.
According to Hissrich, this will no longer be the case in the upcoming season 2 of The Witcher as all characters have intersected and all of them will now be existing under one timeline.
With the basic fundamentals of the story set in place in the first season, Hissrich said they will be able to integrate time in many different ways in the upcoming season such as flashbacks or flash-forwards.
And, while most characters will be back for the second season, Hissrich has also teased two new Witchers, one of them is Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt.
Vesemir will be played by Kim Bodnia of Killing Eve.
Production for season 2 was already underway when filming was halted middle of March with the airdate said to be 2021.
When the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus (CoVid) as a pandemic, most countries instituted a quarantine which had almost all industries calling off work. Film and TV productions were one of those very much affected.
Hissrich has assured that filming will be resuming soon. They are currently holding several meetings on how to go about its resumption.
The showrunner added that they want to put priority on the casts’ health security and comfort during filming thus among their plans is their accommodation.
They will also take into consideration the government’s recommendation as to what is allowed and what is restricted.
