As part of the festivities for National Donut Day on June 7, Tim Hortons has announced a unique partnership with adidas to honor the company's 60th anniversary.
Tim Hortons and adidas have collaborated on four designs for the adidas Samba sneaker inspired by donuts. These designs will not be available for purchase, but they will be up for grabs in a contest that begins TODAY at www.timshop.ca/nationaldonutday and will continue until National Donut Day.
Some of Canada's most popular Tim Hortons donuts, including the Boston Cream, Honey Cruller, Vanilla Dip, and Double Chocolate varieties, inspired the four distinctive designs available.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with adidas for a celebration of some of the most iconic Tim Hortons donuts ever," says Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Tim Hortons (via Yahoo Finance). "We are celebrating our 60th anniversary with several fun surprises for our loyal guests throughout the year," she says.
"There will only be four pairs of these incredibly cool, Tims-inspired adidas Samba sneakers available to be won and we can't wait to award them to guests as a way to celebrate our 60th together."
A look at each of the four different shoe designs is as follows:
Boston Cream
A tan suede symbolizes the donut, a brown outline imitates the chocolate fondant, and a cream color on the tongue and lining of the shoe represents the Venetian cream center. This multi-toned design is inspired by the three colors used in Tim's Boston Cream donuts.
Honey Cruller
This pair of shoes has honey tones highlighted by pleating accents on the tongue. These embellishments are meant to replicate the curves and textures of the Honey Cruller.
Vanilla Dip
Tanned suedes and white leather imitate the donut and fondant on the Vanilla Dip. These materials are accentuated by a burst of color representing the sprinkles used on traditional donuts.
Double Chocolate
Two different hues of dark brown suede are combined to replicate the donut and fondant frosting featured on the Double Chocolate.
