In a Friday advisory reported by Anadolu Ajansı, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) urged Americans in the Middle East to stay alert to attacks by Yemen’s Iranian-backed Houthi group and travel problems.

The State Department also cited Iranian activity aimed at U.S. government officials in the region. Travelers were cautioned that flights could be canceled, airspace closed and other travel problems arise.

The notice follows an earlier U.S. Embassy warning after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia. That alert also told Americans in the Middle East to prepare for travel interruptions, as detailed in EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the embassy warning.
