Over the weekend, Hillary Clinton’s campaign said that they would join Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s petition to recount the votes in Wisconsin and would also join recount process in two other key battleground states; Pennsylvania and Michigan. In a post on Medium, Marc Elias, the Clinton team’s general counsel, said the campaign would take part in the Wisconsin recount being set off by Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, and would also participate if Ms. Stein made good on her plans to seek recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
While Clinton camp said that they do not see any actionable evidence of vote hacking evidence that might change the outcome of the election but joining the effort to assure Clinton voters that they are doing everything they can to verify that no irregularities are there or any kind of Russian hacking. Ms. Stein filed for a recount in Wisconsin on Friday afternoon, about an hour before the deadline. She has raised more than $6 million for the effort, which will now turn to Michigan and Pennsylvania, where there are deadlines in the coming week.
Ms. Stein, who has no chance of winning but said acting on evidence that there have been hacking into the voting machines. US Presidential-elect Donald Trump took to the twitter and attacked the Clinton camp and Dr. Jill Stein suggesting that they have been trying to undermine his fair win and peaceful transition.
