Primaries in New York on April 19th, could either be biggest trump card of Republican front runner Donald Trump or it can very well be his biggest failure. After big defeat in Wisconsin to second runner Ted Cruz, where he secured 36 of the 42 delegates and closed in on Trump’s lead, Trump needs a big win to once again bring his candidacy to highlights.
Prize for New York is quite big, with 95 delegates, which means it represents 10.8% of all the remaining delegates to be grabbed. Anyone who will be able to secure more than 50% of the votes will have all the delegates under Republican’s winner takes all rule.
While Mr. Trump is not a politician with New York as his stronghold, like Mr. Kasich’s Ohio, it is nevertheless is home ground. He is a New Yorker and throughout the race he presented himself as a proud New Yorker. So if he loses there, his rivals will cheer up to the opportunity calling his home rejecting him. Anybody who wins New York will go healthy in primaries in next five states within a week.
Moreover, New York is a cosmopolitan ground, which represents people, with source from everywhere in the U.S.
As of now, poll shows Trump is in comfortable lead with 52% but previous result has showed he has always grabbed less than polls’ prediction. However good news is that his closest rival TED Cruz is in Third place with just 17%.
