U.S. Election Series: Hilary needs to shake off Sanders, Trump needs to unite

After Ted Cruz, abandoned the Presidential race this week, Donald Trump is Republican Party’s presumptive nominee, who can now focus onto attacking Democrats. On the other hand, Hillary is still fighting Bernie Sanders, who just refuse to give up and may not do so until the very last. Mr. Sanders won Indiana but Hillary keep gaining delegates as party rules distribute them proportional to the votes.

While, she is closer than ever to win the nomination, but if super delegates are excluded, Democratic nomination is heading towards contested convention. She has won 1683 pledged delegates compared to Bernie Sanders’ 1362, which means without the super-delegates, she will have to win 60.4% of all remaining delegates. That being the case it would be fair to say, she doesn’t have the momentum Donald Trump has in the race, though polls are giving her a double digit lead over Trump.

Donald Trump’s campaign, on the other hand face a different challenges. With his blunt remarks, arrogant attitude and controversial issues have disgusted many republican voters and candidates in both house and Senate and he will have to united them and make them rally behind him, if he plans to beat the democratic nominee.

While at once hand, Republican nomination haven’t seen this kind of media coverage in decades, the party has also not been this divided ever. Many are planning to drop out from voting or support the democrats, rather than rallying behind Trump.

After becoming Party’s presumptive nominee, he said that he is confident that he can unite much of the party but said some he doesn’t want.

His arrogance could stand big in his own path to White House as he says, people will be voting for him, not for the party.
