Republican party’s presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, who is the last man standing in 17 competitor race won again in yesterday’s primaries in West Virginia and Nebraska. Trump was largely expected to win, even if Ted Cruz and John Kasich hadn’t abandoned the race earlier this month but with them backing out, it was easy cruising to victory.
These primaries don’t matter much to Trump now, but uniting Republican Party to rally behind him does. Several prominent Republicans like John McCain, Mitt Romney, George Bush Senior, and George W. Bush have declared that they will not be supporting Trump. Many like Paul Ryan remain unsure whether to rally behind him or not. Some are even trying to find an independent candidate.
Nevertheless majority of the people are with Mr. Trump and that matters a lot.
He is sure to win all 70 delegates from Nebraska and West Virginia.
On the Democrat side of the race, second runner Bernie Sanders won again in West Virginia, but he only got 16 of the 29 delegates so far, while Hilary lost but got 11 delegates. 2 are yet to be decided.
Sanders, while won many states, his winning margins has not been great to gain over Hillary, who is most likely Democratic nominee.
Next Primaries are on May 17th, Oregon for Republicans; Kentucky and Oregon for Democrats.
