The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced the panelists and agenda for its fintech forum on November 14, 2016, that will discuss fintech innovation in the financial services industry.
The fintech forum will have four panels where the participants of the first panel will discuss the impact of recent innovation in investment advisory services. The second panel will concentrate on the impact of recent innovation on trading, settlements, and clearance activities; while the third panel participants will discuss the impact of recent innovation in capital formation. The fourth and the final panel will talk about investor protection in the fintech era, the release stated.
The panelists include leaders and experts in the field including Chris Church, Chief Business Development Officer at Digital Asset Holdings; Mark Wetjen, Head of Global Public Policy at DTCC; Ram Ahluwalia, CEO and Co-Founder of PeerIQ; Nikhil Lele, Principal in the Financial Services Office at Ernst & Young; Jim Allen, Head of Capital Markets Policy Group, CFA Institute; among others.
The fintech forum is open to the public on a first come, first served basis and will take place at the SEC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. there is no registration for the event. The forum will also be live-streamed via the SEC’s Fintech Spotlight page.
