ROME CIAMPINO, Italy, April 02, 2018 -- Universal Aviation Italy officially inaugurated the complete renovation of its ground support facilities in Rome Ciampino Airport (LIRA) during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by clients, partners, and airport officials.
Universal Aviation is the ground support division of Universal® and has more than 50 locations in 20+ countries, with four locations operated under Universal Aviation Italy. The location in Rome Ciampino has the largest footprint inside the remodeled General Aviation Terminal.
“Rome Ciampino is the airport where general aviation is allowed to operate in the Rome area, and we recognize this is as a high-traffic and strategic location for business aviation operators,” said Lorena Carraro, Managing Director, Universal Aviation Italy. “Our priority for this renovation was to dedicate private spaces for crews and passengers, as well as the highest level of amenities and features that are important to our clients. With passion and commitment we are proud to offer our clients a warm welcome, granting them a unique experience in the ‘eternal city’ of Rome.”
The facility includes a brand new and modern operations office, crew business center, a crew rest lounge, and a VIP lounge for passengers which looks directly out onto the ramp. Crews can now take advantage of the rest lounge located on the first floor of the terminal and a dedicated space, adjacent to the operations office, for their flight briefings.
“The renovation of our facilities in Rome Ciampino reinforces Universal’s commitment and Greg’s vision to accommodate our customers to the highest standards, delivering not only a successful mission but a Universal experience provided by the Universal team and family in over 20 countries today,” said Claudia Evans, who spoke in honor of husband Greg Evans, Chairman, Universal. “And we are continuing to expand, with over 1,700 employees around the world providing an impeccable service every day.”
