‘Veep’ season 6’s episode 2, titled “Library,” will follow Selina as she mulls over owning a library of her own following a visit to a Presidential library. Amy will continue her ruthless campaign for Buddy and will release an attack ad. Meanwhile, viewership was revealed to have gone down for the season’s premiere episode.
The synopsis for episode 2 posted on TV Guide reads, “Selina (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) visits President Hughes' library, which gets her thinking about one of her own. Meanwhile, Jonah (Timothy C. Simons) learns the secret to getting ahead in politics; Amy (Anna Chlumsky) releases an attack ad; and Dan (Reid Scott) finds himself at the mercy of Jane's (guest star Margaret Colin) whims.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow Selina as she contemplates on thinking a library of her own after she visits President Hughes’.The season premiere, titled “Omaha,” followed Selina one year later following her failed presidential bid.
According to the recap posted on Den of Geek, Selina revealed that has been enjoying her time out of the public eye following her departure from the White House. However, she did express her devastation on the circumstances. By the end of the episode, Selina announced to her family that she intended to run for the Presidency again.
Amy, on the other hand, was revealed to be engaged to Buddy Calhoun. Buddy is running for governor of Nevada and Amy is ruthless in managing the campaign for him. It will be interesting to see what kind of attack ad she will be releasing on the upcoming episode.
According to Deadline, the season premiere managed to pull in a total of 659,000 viewers as it aired right after HBO’s ‘Girls’. The numbers revealed that viewership has gone down 40% from the Season 5 premiere last April 2106.
‘Veep’ season 6’s episode 2, titled “Library,” is scheduled to air on HBO on April 23, 2017. It was directed by Craig Zisk and written by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck. It will be followed by episode 3, titled "Georgia," scheduled to be released on April 30 and directed by Becky Martin.
