The second half of “Vikings” Season 5 has recently been announced to return on November and fans are already making a lot of speculations. Much of it is due to the teaser trailer that the show released and the hints that actors have been providing. For example, fans are already expecting “Vikings” Season 5 Episode 11 to be the beginning of Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) end.
As the main female character of the show, what with her being Ragnar’s (Travis Fimmel) former wife and mother of Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Lagertha has been keeping death at bay for a long time. Yet a poll shows that fans believe that she will die in the second half of the show’s fifth season, Express reports. Perhaps not on “Vikings” Season 5 Episode 11, though, since the showrunners are likely to keep her around for a little while longer than that.
Based on the results of the poll, 25 percent of fans think that Katheryn Winnick’s character is not long for this world. Of course, this doesn’t mean anything until the actress herself or one of the show’s executives confirms the suspicion. It would appear that the teaser video has managed to shape public opinion regarding the events following “Vikings” Season 5 Episode 11.
Regardless of how Lagertha’s fate will turn out, it’s worth noting that other characters in the show will also have their issues when “Vikings” Season 5 Episode 11 airs. As Otaku Art reports, the show’s creator Michael Hirst has already said in an interview with Variety early this year that this season is the ascendance of Ivar to power. At the same time, it also deals with resolving past issues, which is what Rollo (Clive Standen) will be doing when the show returns.
“You have to find out why he has come back. He’s come back for a very particular reason — a reason that goes way back into the first season of the show. There are unresolved issues in his personal life with his brother and Lagertha, and these are issues that he still wants to deal with,” Hirst said.
“Vikings” Season 5 Episode 11 is scheduled to air on November 28. Amazon Prime viewers will likely be able to view it on the same day or the day after.
